International Concert Pianist, Congyu Wang, will host a second book signing event at the Steinway Gallery in Bangkok. The exclusive event starts at 11:00hrs where Wang is set to play a recital, performing works from Liszt, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. It will, without a doubt, be a treat for those in attendance as they bask in the music and walk away with signed copies of his new book, The Wandering Pianist.

Wang just launched his highly-anticipated new book, The Wandering Pianist: From the Streets to the Concert Hall, through a press conference and book signing on December 27, 2023 in Singapore. The event was hosted at Steinway & Sons Gallery, ION Orchard, where guests got intimate with the Steinway Artist while learning about his inspirational book.

The press conference came right after Wang’s recent performance at the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto in Jakarta, which was sold out. The Singapore native will continue touring all over the world next year. Several dignitaries attended the press conference, including Mediacorp Editor, Yi Fan; Founder and Festival Director at Singapore Watch Fair, Nelson Lee; and Simon Montiero, Associate VP at Sotheby’s International Realty.

A compact summary of Wang’s intriguing career and life, The Wandering Pianist is intended to be a source of inspiration for young and upcoming musicians. Wang, initially, did not envision playing the piano as a career choice and overcame obstacles such as homelessness, hunger, and resistance from family members before becoming the highly sought-after concert pianist that he is today.

Wang started attending the prestigious École Normale de Musique de Paris school at the age of 16, where he studied under the tutelage of musical greats such as French pianists Jean-Marc Luisada and Odile Catelin-Delangle. Since graduating, he has appeared in over 800 recitals in varying countries, from Singapore and South Africa to Indonesia and Italy, among many others. Wang has also copped a plethora of titles and awards, which include becoming Singapore’s most promising young artist of 2016, as well as winning the Germaine Mounier Prix in 2022.

A headliner at recent sold-out concerts, Wang is fully booked through to the summer of 2025. Concert fans who missed his last performance can look forward to appearances in the New Year, including January dates in the Philippines and Taiwan. The Wandering Pianist will also be available for purchase in paperback and hardcover at all concert venues where Wang will appear in 2024. Digital versions of the book are now on sale, via platforms such as Amazon, Good Reads, and the author’s website: https://www.congyuwang.com/.
